The Texas REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to the election campaigns of qualified candidates.

How Does It Work?

Through TREPAC, REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®, given freely in recognition of how important campaign fundraising is to the political process. TREPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates who care about the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood.

Why Invest?

Monies raised through TREPAC are directly used to preserve private property rights and protect the real estate industry. Through TREPAC, numerous legislation has been defeated or supported that made a crucial difference in how you do business every day in Texas.

For example, in 2015 with TREPAC’s support, a constitutional amendment was passed banning any tax on real estate transfers and increasing the homestead exemption to $25,000 in one motion. In 2013, TREPAC played a key role in addressing the state’s long-term water and public education needs and in 2007, TREPAC’s support helped prevent a property tax from being imposed on personal vehicles also used in the production of income.

These measures have not only ensured that Texas remains the best place to buy and sell property, but have saved you thousands of dollars and given you the freedom to stay in control of your business.
