General Membership Meeting on Monday, July 14 

Join us for the 2025 General Membership Meeting and Summer Social on Monday, July 14! You can find details of everything that will be discussed below.

Board of Directors Slate of Nominees 

The 2025 SABOR Nominating Committee would like to recommend Karilyn Berger, Donald Carrasco, Kenny Cunningham, Nellie DeLa Cruz, Eric Johnson and Denise Mitchell to the Board of Directors. The slate of nominees will be presented at the General Membership Meeting . If approved, they will serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2026.

Vote on Proposed Changes to the SABOR Bylaws
 
In accordance with Article XVII of the SABOR Bylaws, notice is being provided that amendments to the Bylaws will be considered and voted on at the General Membership Meeting on Monday, July 14. The following amendments are proposed:  

 

Vote on Proposed Mergers

In accordance with the SABOR Bylaws, notice is being provided that mergers with both the Del Rio Board of REALTORS® and the Eagle Pass Board of REALTORS® will be considered and voted on at the General Membership meeting. The following agreements are proposed:  

Motion: That SABOR enter into the proposed written agreement to merge with the Del Rio Board of REALTORS®, subject to final approval by the membership at the July General Membership meeting. 

Motion: That SABOR enter into the proposed written agreement to merge with the Eagle Pass Board of REALTORS®, subject to final approval by the membership at the July General Membership meeting.

Proposed Amendments

Recommend: That Part XI – Officers and Directors, Section 6: Nominations and Elections of Directors be amend to allow that the 3 appointed board of director members can be from those who have served in the last three years.
RATIONALE: To provide a greater pool of board members who can fill the required three positions the recommendation was made to expand the group from currently serving board members to those board members who have served within the last three years. This change would allow for less likelihood that the positions could not be filled due to board members wishing to run for open positions. Additionally, board members from the last three years would have a good understanding of the required qualifications to serve on the board of directors.  

Recommend: Motion to amend the SABOR Bylaws, in accordance with the provisions outlined in Addendum A, for the purpose of effectuating the directive issued by the Board of Directors on March 20, 2025 to transition to a separate MLS structure.
RATIONALE: This amendment supports the Board of Directors’ strategic directive to be positioned to transition to a regionalized MLS structure by aligning SABOR’s Bylaws with updated governance, financial, and operational requirements. The changes outlined in Addendum A clarify financial accountability, define committee structure, and formally establish SABOR’s authority to operate a regional MLS. This positions SABOR to better serve members across a broader geographic footprint with more efficient and scalable MLS services.
