About the Program
The SABOR Local Policy Liaison Program connects REALTORS® with local city and county elected officials to:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships
- Enhance communication between policymakers and the real estate community
- Support advocacy efforts aligned with SABOR’s adopted policy positions
- Strengthen the REALTOR ® Party’s presence at the local level
This program plays a vital role in ensuring REALTORS® have a seat at the table when local decisions impact private property rights, housing and our industry.
Role of a Policy Liaison
Serving as a SABOR Local Policy Liaison is a volunteer leadership opportunity designed to strengthen relationships between SABOR REALTORS® and local elected officials.
- Serve as a primary contact between SABOR and an assigned elected official
- Communicate SABOR’s Board-approved policy positions
- Attend meetings, events or touchpoints as appropriate
- Support coordinated advocacy efforts led by SABOR Government Affairs
- All advocacy messaging and positions will be guided by SABOR Government Affairs staff and approved leadership.
Current Openings
We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:
- San Antonio Mayor
- San Antonio City Council (10 positions)
- Bexar County Judge
- Bexar County Commissioners Court (4 positions)
Term of Service
April 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027
Note: The initial term will be approximately three months shorter due to the launch of this program.
Application Process
Application submissions will be reviewed by SABOR Government Affairs staff in coordination with the Government Affairs Chair, the Government Affairs Vice Chair and the Political Involvement Committee.
Selected applicants will be contacted with next steps and onboarding information.
