December Home Sales Remain Consistent For Uvalde County, According to The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M

Uvalde (January 19, 2022) – Uvalde County reported a total of 20 home sales for December, a decrease of 20 percent in comparison to December 2020, according to data produced by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M. The average price of a home increased drastically by 52 percent from last December to $349,634. The median price showed a 28.2 percent increase to $255,000. On average homes spent 54 days on the market before selling, and 10 homes were pending sales. There were 38 active listings in December. 

“We saw a strong end to the year in Uvalde County with an increase in pending sales and new listings compared to 2020,” said Tracie Hasslocher, SABOR's 2022 Chairman of the Board. "With a decent increase in median and average home prices we only saw a decrease of 53 closed sales with 99% closing at list price."

In the City of Uvalde, home sales have increased 25 percent for a total of 15 homes sold. Average home prices increased 62 percent to $231,486. The median price increased by 33.9 percent to $192,500 compared to December 2020. On average, homes in the area sold within 49 days of being listed.

 

In Texas, a total of 33,334 homes sold in December, a decrease of 2.8 percent year-over-year. The average home sales price rose 15.9 percent to $395,068 and median price increased to $325,000, a 19.5 percent growth. Price per square foot in the state increased over 20 percent to $176 and 98.9 percent of homes sold for list price. December closed with 1.2 months of inventory, 25,256 new listings, and 25,461 pending sales.
